A male motorcycle rider has died after a fatal collision at Koo Wee Rup.
Victoria Police spokesman Paul Turner said police were still investigating the scene of the crash.
According to Mr Turner, a car travelling towards Melbourne on the South Gippsland Highway, turned right into Sybella Road at 4.50pm on Sunday afternoon.
“A motorcycle travelling towards Phillip Island on the South Gippsland highway collided with the car at the intersection,” Leading Senior Constable Turner said.
“The male rider of the motorcycle died at the scene.”
Senior Constable Turner said the driver of the car, an 83-year-old Lang Lang man, and his passenger, a woman believed to be in her 80s also from Lang Lang, were taken to the Dandenong Hospital with minor injuries.
“The exact cause of the crash is yet to be determined and the roads will be closed for some time,” he said.

Earlier on Sunday, two people were killed in separate road crashes in Victoria.
This year, five lives have been claimed on the road, one more than last year.
