Public consultation on the proposed location of the Yarragon Skate Park will soon cease, following two months of deliberation.

Waterloo Park, Howard Park or Market Street Park could soon be home to Yarragon’s Skate Park but it’s up to Baw Baw Shire residents to decide.

Baw Baw Shire Mayor, Joe Gauci, said council invites members of the community, especially the younger demographic, to provide their own feedback on the potential locations.

“We want to know which of the sites the community feels will be the best location for the development of a future skate park, and what they would like to see included in the concept design,” Mayor Joe Gauci said.

“In particular, we want to hear from the younger residents of the Shire who will use this facility; what components would they most like to see?

Yarragon’s Community Skate Park committee identified seven potential locations for the park that became three following an extensive survey.

The survey invited comment from the Yarragon District Community Association, Yarragon Primary School and Victoria Police.

Baw Baw Shire councillors initially authorized a public consultation process for the Yarragon Skatepark at a council meeting in December last year.

Public feedback on the Yarragon Skatepark location can now be made via Baw Baw Shire’s Have Your Say page, email or by written submission to the Shire’s Recreation Team, before next Friday.
