Police appeal for witnesses following fatal motorcycle collison in Drouin

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Drouin yesterday, claiming the life of a motorcyclist. 

A 4WD and a motorcycle collided head-on on Wellwood Road at 6:50 am on Tuesday.

The motorcyclist, a 61 year old man from Labertouche, died at the scene.

The driver of the 4WD, a 39-year-old Queensland man, sustained no injuries and was taken into custody.

He is yet to be questioned.

Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit are currently investigating the collision and believe a number of vehicles in the area may have witnessed the vehicles in the lead up to the crash.

According to Victoria Police, a dark coloured 4WD was travelling east on Wellwood road, approximately 300 metres in front of the 4WD involved in the collision and may of bared witness to the incident.

Two sedans, one dark coloured and one light coloured, were also travelling west on the same road that possibly passed the 4WD prior to the collision.
