A driver has died and a female motorist is seriously injured after two cars collided in Trafalgar on the Princes Highway Saturday night.
Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision off Hardy Drive.
“It is believed two cars collided on Princes Highway near Hardy Drive just before 8.30pm”, Police spokesperson Belinda Batty said.
“One of the vehicles has ended up on nearby train tracks and caught fire.”
“The yet to be identified driver died at the scene.”
A female in the other vehicle has been transported to hospital with serious injuries, a male also in the car suffered minor injuries.
Trains in the area stopped and were affected for several hours.
