Sometimes it is of great advantage to be a local in the know as one criminal in Moe realised on Friday night.
Local police spotted a Ford Fairmont driving along Narracan Drive towards Moe at approximately 8:40pm on Friday night without a number plate and attempted to intercept the vehicle.
The driver sped off before police were able to apprehend him.
However, police soon made the decision to search Hennessy Street after an officer remembered seeing a similar car outside of one of the properties.
On arrival a car was located at the property but the engine was completely cold.
While police begun contemplating their next move, the first car pulled up at the house.
In a state of disbelief, the driver jumped out of the car and ran, straight into the arms of an officer.
A 24-year-old Newborough man was arrested but had no connection to the Hennessy Street address but where he happened to resurface.
The man will be charged on summons with a range of traffic offences including evade police and driving whilst disqualified.
