A mother was teaching her son how to drive but police soon learnt this was no ordinary lesson during a random vehicle check in Korumburra early Sunday morning.
When the pair’s red commodore was pulled over at 12:45am on Mine Road, police discovered the 20 year old Drouin man was driving while drunk.
The driver’s mother was asleep in the back of the car not wearing a seatbelt.
The son’s blood alcohol reading was registered at 0.138.
He was fined $1590 for driving while drunk, driving while unsupervised and not displaying his learner plates.
The man’s mother was fined $311 for not wearing a seatbelt and probably won’t be teaching her son to drive anytime soon.
